For Calle del Oro, a private residential project located in La Jolla, CA, we developed a concept that highlights the values of simplicity, honesty, and purity in architecture inspired by Japan. The style is characterized by simple and elegant forms, integrated into complex and rational structures, influenced by Japanese aesthetics and modern architecture.
CO,MA developed the stylism and curated the collectible design objects as well as the artworks.
We selected pieces with simple shapes and an honest treatment of materials to create continuity between the architecture, the furniture, the design objects, and the works of art. This approach makes Calle del Oro a unique place, where every corner has a special meaning, turning the proposal into a total work of art.
Developing a close relationship with the client allowed us to not only help them select their furniture and art but also act as the stylist of the property. From hand towels to table books, we ensured that every detail reflected the essence of the residence while keeping the owner’s identity in mind. By handpicking each item, we ensured that the property embodies the vision and personality of its occupants, creating a truly personalized and harmonious living space.
